Jake picked up a guitar at only 8 years old, and hasn't put it down since. It wasn't long before he began writing songs and playing for anybody who would listen, a hobby that never grew old. At age 19, he enlisted in the Navy as a Hospital Corpsman, specializing as a surgical tech. Throughout his enlistment he continued to write, and at the urging of other sailors, self-produced and released his album "Songs That Got Me Here". After 5 years, he separated from the military to pursue a career in music, playing 104 shows his first year and releasing his homecoming album "Indigo".
In 2023 Mach released his “Valley Tapes" EP, a collaborative effort with bluegrass artist Troy Engle, that highlighted his lyrics with a modern take on traditional country music.
With his new album, "Had To Be There", Mach channels the spirit of ’80s and ’90s country music—pairing heartfelt, introspective writing with rich, timeless instrumentation.
